Terms of Service

Last updated: July 14, 2026

Please read this first. MyParentCare is a reassurance and awareness tool — not a medical device, emergency response system, or life-safety service. It can fail, be delayed, or miss activity for reasons outside our control (a dead battery, no network, the phone left at home). Never rely on it as your only safeguard, and always call your local emergency number in a real emergency.

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using MyParentCare, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Not a medical or emergency service

MyParentCare provides passive, best-effort signals about whether a monitored person appears active. It is not:

  • a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat, or monitor any medical condition;
  • a fall-detection or personal-emergency-response (PERS) system;
  • a guaranteed alarm — alerts may be delayed or fail to trigger due to battery, connectivity, device settings, or other factors.

In any urgent or life-threatening situation, contact your local emergency services immediately. Do not wait for, or depend solely on, a MyParentCare alert.

3. Eligibility & consent

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and pay for MyParentCare. You are responsible for ensuring the monitored person is aware of the app and consents to being monitored. Do not use MyParentCare to surveil anyone without their knowledge or against their wishes.

4. Accounts & pairing

The family member creates an account with an email and password and is responsible for keeping their credentials secure. The monitored person is connected through a one-time pairing link and is not required to create an account. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.

5. Subscriptions & billing

  • MyParentCare offers a 7-day free trial, followed by an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly) or a one-time lifetime purchase.
  • Purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account. Payment is charged upon confirmation of purchase.
  • Auto-renewing subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store's policies.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app — including reverse-engineering it, disrupting the service, using it unlawfully, or using it to monitor someone without consent. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.

7. Service availability

We aim to keep MyParentCare running reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The service depends on third parties (Apple, network carriers, hosting providers) and on the monitored device being powered, connected, and carried. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will detect every event, deliver every alert, or prevent any harm.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MyParentCare and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any harm arising from missed, delayed, or failed alerts, loss of data, or reliance on the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms. On termination, your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised terms.
